Zac LaNeve went 3-3 at the plate, sparking the Butler Blue Sox (6-5) to a 6-4 victory over the Richmond RiverRats (4-8) on Monday at McBride Stadium.

He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.

The Richmond RiverRats' lineup had no answer for Tanner Schumacher. Schumacher held the Richmond RiverRats hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Michael Paez got on base four times in the game for the Richmond RiverRats. He singled in the third and sixth innings.

Matt Brankle ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
