The West Virginia Miners (2-3) beat the Richmond RiverRats (1-4) 1-0 on Monday at Linda K. Epling Stadium behind Paul Trenhaile, who went 1-3.

Seth Noreman brought the heat against the Richmond RiverRats during his outing. The Richmond RiverRats managed just one hit off of the the West Virginia Miners' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out four during his four innings of work.

A bright spot for the Richmond RiverRats in the defeat was Bowie Matteson, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

T J Trujillo improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Matteson couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Richmond RiverRats, taking a loss.
