Knese's walk-off single send the West Virginia Miners home winners, 8-7

A walk-off single from Zach Knese brought home the winning run for the West Virginia Miners (1-3) in an 8-7 victory over the Champion City Kings in 10 innings at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Sunday.

Knese racked up two RBIs on one hit for the West Virginia Miners. He singled in the tenth innings.

Gavin Culler led the West Virginia Miners' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second and tenth innings.

Quinton Yocom had an impressive outing against the Champion City Kings (3-2)'s lineup. The Champion City Kings managed just three hits off of Yocom, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Cody Smith recorded his first win of the year for the West Virginia Miners. Smith struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

William Young was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
