An outstanding effort by Colton Loomis lifted the Spokane (20-17) to a 9-1 win over the Yakima Valley on Wednesday at Spokane Falls Community College.
Loomis picked up the win for the Spokane. Loomis allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out five over nine innings of work.
The Spokane blew out the Yakima Valley (24-15) thanks to nine hits, including zero extra base hits. The Spokane scored four runs in the sixth on a solo home run by Brandon Witherspoon, a wild pitch, a passed ball, and an error.
Witherspoon racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Spokane.
Hugo Lemus (8-1) took the loss for the Yakima Valley. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
