Nate Giles went 1-1 as the Yakima Valley (24-14) took home a 4-2 victory over the Big Bend (20-15) at BBCC Baseball Field on Wednesday.
He singled in the sixth inning.Ross Tassara pitched lights out for the Yakima Valley. Tassara gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
A bright spot for the Big Bend in the defeat was Higley Jordan, who allowed only three runs while striking out seven.
Hugo Lemus got the win, running his season record to 8-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. Lemus struck out three, walked five and gave up five hits.
Jordan (2-5) was the game's losing pitcher.
