Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Columbia Basin, 12-0

A nine-run explosion in the third inning spurred the Columbia Basin (20-7) to a 12-0 win in seven innings over the Spokane at Columbia Basin Baseball Field on Wednesday.

Hayden Meier racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Columbia Basin. He singled in the first and third innings.

The Spokane (15-14) had no answer for Steven Danek, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Danek gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Evan Harder improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Columbia Basin. Harder struck out two, walked one and gave up no hits.

Colton Loomis (3-3) took the loss for the Spokane. He allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.

The Columbia Basin hammered the Spokane pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 15 hits, nine RBIs and nine runs scored.
