The Pierce (26-10) beat the Tacoma (34-5) 6-4 in seven innings on Saturday at Pima Community College behind Luke Heyer, who knocked in four runs.

Jeremy Spring went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Tacoma. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

Ryan Schmitten got the win, running his season record to 4-0. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

Patrick Bernard was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
