Brett Nielsen had two extra base hits, helping the Tacoma (17-1) to an 11-6 victory over the Green River (4-16) on Saturday at Heritage Park.
He doubled in the first inning and homered in the second inning.The Green River had no answer for Quinn Eldridge, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Green River managed just one hit off of the the Tacoma's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Billy Barker racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Green River. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Patrick Bernard recorded his third win for the Tacoma even though he allowed five runs over 4 2/3 innings. Bernard struck out three, walked four and gave up seven hits.
Zach Cooper ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked four and struck out two.
The Tacoma's Nielsen, JJ Pino, Jeremy Spring and Matthew Hirsch combined for eight hits and nine RBIs.
