The Lower Columbia (24-11) took home an 8-1 victory over the Pierce (20-10) on Sunday at Mt Tahoma High School , fueled by three runs in the ninth inning.
Peter Lecce racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lower Columbia. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
The Lower Columbia got the win thanks in large part to Jeremy Rabauliman's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Rabauliman allowed one earned run, five hits and four walks over six innings.
Jeff Nelson got on base four times in the game for the Pierce. He also drove in one runner. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Darrien Moran ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
