Vasquez leads the Clackamas to 10-4 win over the Chemeketa

Kiara Vasquez clubbed two home runs to carry the Clackamas (31-2) to a 10-4 win over the Chemeketa (19-16) at Clackamas Community College Sof in seven innings.

Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Clackamas to easily put away the Chemeketa. A solo home run by Vasquez in the second inning fueled the Clackamas' offense early.

Cassidy Edwards pitched lights out for the Clackamas. The Chemeketa managed just two hits off of Edwards, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Destinee Chang had two extra-base hits for the Chemeketa. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the fifth inning.

Breann Morrison improved to 13-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Clackamas. He allowed four runs over four innings. Morrison struck out four, walked one and gave up six hits.

Emilie Leach (8-5) took the loss for the Chemeketa. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.

Vasquez, Edwards and Rashaun Sells helped lead the Clackamas. They combined for six hits and five RBIs.
