An ace performance by Kyle Zimmer led the Ontario (4-2) to a 3-0 win in seven innings over the Trois-Rivieres (4-2) on Sunday at Midget Municipal Stadium.
The Ontario's Zimmer kept the Trois-Rivieres off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up seven.
Tristan Legault was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Ontario batters and allowing zero runs.
Derek Philibert ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
