The Swift Current Indians (3-0) and the Weyburn Beavers (0-3) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Swift Current Indians that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-2 win at Tom Laing Park.

Mario Sanchez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Swift Current Indians. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Chris Haddeland struck out seven hitters en route to the the Swift Current Indians win. Haddeland allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks over six innings.

A bright spot for the Weyburn Beavers in the defeat was Ryan Shaw, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Michael Crain couldn't get it done on the bump for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
