Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Statesville Owls (13-12) outscored the Carolina Chaos (7-14) 11-9 in seven innings.

The two teams combined for 20 hits in the game.

Scott Gibson had three extra-base hits for the Statesville Owls. He tripled in the second and third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Kendall Whitman racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Carolina Chaos. He doubled in the second innings.

Kevin Hughes improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Statesville Owls. Hughes struck out none, walked two and gave up three hits.

Aaron Rhodes (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

Gibson, Jalen Shuffler, Colby Dishmond and Bryan Bussey helped lead the Statesville Owls. They combined for nine hits and six RBIs.
