The Terre Haute Rex get key pinch-hit in 4-3 victory over the Danville Dans

Andrew Cope was cold coming off the bench, but Cope warmed up quickly as Cope stroked a key pinch-hit single in the eight to lead the Terre Haute Rex (7-1) to a 4-3 win over the Danville Dans (2-4) on Thursday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

With the score tied at three in the eighth inning, Cope came to the plate and singled.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the eighth, with four lead changes.

Rick Sanchez racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Terre Haute Rex. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the eighth inning.

The Danville Dans couldn't get anything going as long as Michaelangelo Guzman was on the mound. The Danville Dans managed just two hits off of the the Terre Haute Rex's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Trevor Haas improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Terre Haute Rex. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Jared Burton was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
