Wednesday was a great day for Cory Carter, as Carter pitched seven shutout innings to carry the Regina Red Sox (16-15) to a 5-1 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals (10-21) at Currie Field.
Cody Maas racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Regina Red Sox. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
A bright spot for the Yorkton Cardinals in the defeat was Jeff Pool, who allowed only two runs while striking out eight.
Pool (1-4) took the loss for the Yorkton Cardinals.
