Saturday was a great day for David Hatt, as Hatt struck out eight batters to carry the Medicine Hat Mavericks (24-3) to a 12-1 victory over the Edmonton Prospects (6-21) at Telus Field.
The Medicine Hat Mavericks blew out the Edmonton Prospects thanks to 13 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored five runs in the ninth on an RBI triple by Grant Silva, an RBI single by Guillaume Gingras, an RBI single by Chris Lindmark, , and a hit by pitch.
Silva racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks.
Conner Jauch put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Edmonton Prospects. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Jordan Geiger was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
