Sunday was a great day for Matt Cook, as Cook threw a shutout to carry the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (11-10) to a 5-0 victory over the Edmonton Prospects (3-19) at Telus Field.
The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets' Cook kept the Edmonton Prospects off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out six.
Landon Briscoe had a hot bat for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. Briscoe went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Justin Hanks ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
