Seven first-inning runs helped the Medicine Hat Mavericks (18-3) to an 11-6 win over the Melville Millionaires (10-11) at Jefferies Park/Kinsmen Park on Friday.

Zach Zdanowicz went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

Homero Ortiz had three extra-base hits for the Melville Millionaires. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings and homered in the eighth inning.

Ryan Castadio got his third win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks despite allowing five runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Mitchell Bro (2-1) took the loss for the Melville Millionaires. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
