The Weyburn Beavers outlast the Regina Red Sox in extras, 5-2

The Weyburn Beavers (1-2) beat the Regina Red Sox (3-2) 5-2 but needed 10 innings to do so on Monday at Currie Field.

With the score tied at two in the tenth inning, Michael Lukkason came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Dallas Monk and Spencer Mallonee.

Lukkason helped the Weyburn Beavers take the lead for good in the tenth inning. Monk singled to get on base in the tenth. He then went from first to second on an error.

Lukkason racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Weyburn Beavers. He doubled in the tenth innings.

Dalton Silva recorded his first win of the year for the Weyburn Beavers. He struck out eight, walked two and surrendered two hits.

William Shell couldn't get it done on the mound for the Regina Red Sox, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
