Friday was a great day for Wes Roemer, as Roemer struck out seven batters to carry the St Paul Saints to a 5-1 victory over the New Jersey Jackals at Midway Stadium.
The New Jersey Jackals (1-1) had the lead early, but couldn't hold off the St Paul Saints. The New Jersey Jackals led until the fourth inning, but the St Paul Saints took the lead back on a sacrifice fly by Jose Hernandez.
Brad Boyer did his best to jumpstart the offense for the St Paul Saints, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Kyle Greenwalt (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
