The USSSA Pride (17-7) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 3-2 ballgame against the Chicago Bandits (17-6) on Saturday at Osceola Co Stadium.
While the USSSA Pride led until the fifth inning, the Chicago Bandits worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Nerissa Myers.
Monica Abbott's nine strikeouts helped the Chicago Bandits to the victory. Abbott allowed two earned runs, seven hits and four walks over seven innings.
Cat Osterman (9-2) took the loss for the USSSA Pride. She lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out 10, and allowed three runs.
