Zac Mathie went 1-3 and hit a home run, helping the Chillicothe Paints (23-14) to a 3-0 victory over the West Virginia Miners (24-15) on Wednesday at VA Memorial Stadium.

Chris Thomas had an impressive outing against the West Virginia Miners' lineup. Thomas gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Kevin Johnstone (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
