Kyle Zimmerman went 1-2 as the Terre Haute Rex (15-11) took home a 5-4 victory over the Hannibal Cavemen (12-14) at Clemens Field on Saturday.
He singled in the sixth inning.Damon Waller was solid at the plate for the Hannibal Cavemen. Waller went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning.
The Terre Haute Rex had no answer for Josh Halbert, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Terre Haute Rex managed just one hit off of Halbert, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
Taylor Horn got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Jamell Blue (0-1) took the loss for the Hannibal Cavemen. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
