The Quincy Gems (14-6) used a seven-run explosion in the seventh inning to get past the Terre Haute Rex (14-7) 8-2 on Monday at Quincy Stadium.

The Terre Haute Rex jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Terre Haute Rex were up until the seventh inning, but the Quincy Gems had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on an RBI single by Thomas Richards.

Bryan Niedbalski racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Quincy Gems. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

Austin Tribby looked sharp on the mound. Tribby held the Terre Haute Rex hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Kurt Kudrecki was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
