Spencer Herrmann went 2-4, sparking the Danville Dans (3-4) to a 3-1 victory over the Springfield Sliders (2-8) on Saturday at Robin Roberts Field.
He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.Cody Carroll put together a nice outing. The Springfield Sliders managed just one hit off of the the Danville Dans' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out seven during his five innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Springfield Sliders' Dallas Ponder dominated the Danville Dans' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.
Ponder ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
