The Hannibal Cavemen (2-5) and the Springfield Sliders (2-6) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Hannibal Cavemen that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 5-4 win at Clemens Field.

The Hannibal Cavemen held off the Springfield Sliders, as the Springfield Sliders were unable to overcome a four-run seventh inning deficit.

The Springfield Sliders scored three runs in the ninth on an RBI single by Nolan Rappe and 3s. Unfortunately, the Springfield Sliders weren't able to take the lead back.

The Hannibal Cavemen were led by a flawless day at the dish by Kyle Kuck, who went 2-2 against the Springfield Sliders' pitching. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Devontae Wilson picked up the win for the Hannibal Cavemen. Wilson pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, 10 hits and two walks while striking out five.

Brendan Kleekamp ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
