Casey Fletcher both hit and pitched well for the Danville Dans (10-8), but it wasn't enough as the Danville Dans fell to the Terre Haute Rex (12-6) 11-1 at Danville Stadium on Wednesday.
Fletcher paced the Danville Dans at the plate. Fletcher went 2-4. He singled in the second and seventh innings.
The Terre Haute Rex's lineup had no answer for Fletcher. Fletcher gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
Seven runs in the first three innings helped the Terre Haute Rex blow out the Danville Dans. An RBI single by Atlee Schwab, an RBI single by Kalik May, an RBI single by Kyle Kempf, an RBI single by Tyler Wampler, and an RBI single by Wampler in the second inning helped the Terre Haute Rex put some runs on the board early.
Schwab paced the Terre Haute Rex at the plate. Schwab went 3-5 and scored two runs.
Kyle Zimmerman put together a nice outing. The Danville Dans managed just one hit off of the the Terre Haute Rex's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked five and struck out three during his 5 2/3 innings of work.
Evan Dunn (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked six and struck out two.
