The Ballantyne Smokies (8-5) built an early edge on Friday, but the Morganton Aggies (6-2) roared back to steal a 7-4 victory at Ardrey Kell HS.

While the Ballantyne Smokies led until the seventh inning, the Morganton Aggies worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run single by Jermale Paige.

Chaz Miller looked sharp on the mound. Miller held the Ballantyne Smokies hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Jip Richards (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
