Alvaro Ramirez had two extra base hits, sparking the Frontier Greys (28-49) to an 8-4 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (42-35) on Monday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

He tripled in the third inning, homered in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh innings.

Carlos Mendez did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Southern Illinois Miners, reaching base three times. He singled in the first and fifth innings.

Joe Zeller improved to 8-7 on the year by picking up the win for the Frontier Greys. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered five hits.

Cody Hall was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked none and struck out three.

Ramirez, Eric Avila and Mark Micowski helped lead the Frontier Greys. They combined for nine hits and four RBIs.
