The Evansville Otters (24-19) pounded the Washington Wild Things (22-22) on Saturday 7-1 at Bosse Field in five innings.

A three-run home run by Stephen Marino delivered the runs in the fifth. The Evansville Otters had one hit in the inning.

J.R. Higley racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the third inning.

Matt Zielinski pitched lights out for the Evansville Otters. The Washington Wild Things managed just two hits off of the the Evansville Otters' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out seven during his five innings of work.

Shawn Smith was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked four and struck out two.
