The Schaumburg Boomers (2-0) took home a marathon 3-2 victory over the Washington Wild Things (0-1) on Friday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.
With the score tied at two in the eleventh inning, Bobby Martin came to the plate and singled, bringing home Chad Mozingo.
Mozingo put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the third and eleventh innings.
Danny Jimenez baffled the Washington Wild Things, striking out seven batters. Jimenez allowed two earned runs on four hits and no walks over six innings.
