While the Olean Oilers (0-1) hung tough on Tuesday, the Wellsville Nitros (1-0) pulled away late for the 7-1 victory at Olean HS.

Scott De Jong racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Wellsville Nitros. He homered in the ninth inning.

Jack Fowler had an impressive outing against the Olean Oilers' lineup. Fowler held the Olean Oilers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Kevin Herren recorded his first win of the year for the Wellsville Nitros. He allowed one run over four innings. Herren struck out six, walked three and gave up two hits.

Brandon Valentin (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
