The Long Island Ducks cough up lead, the Somerset Patriots win 6-5

Things looked bleak for the Somerset Patriots (13-4) when they trailed by four runs in the fifth inning, but the Somerset Patriots recovered thanks to a key in the eighth inning from Bobby Stevens to pull out a 6-5 win over the Long Island Ducks (6-12) at Bethpage Ballpark.

With the Somerset Patriots trailing by one in the eighth inning,, scoring Eddy Martinez-Esteve and Luis Montanez.

The Somerset Patriots would not relinquish the lead as the Long Island Ducks were unable to weather a two-run eighth inning deficit.

The Long Island Ducks scored one run in the eighth on an RBI single by Ben Broussard. Unfortunately, the Long Island Ducks weren't able to take the lead back.

Corey Smith got a hit in each of his four at bats. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth, eighth, and ninth innings.

David Harden recorded his second win of the year for the Somerset Patriots. Harden struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

Jared Lansford was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
