The Abilene Prairie Dogs make the most of 12 hits in 8-6 victory over the Fort Worth Cats

The Abilene Prairie Dogs (33-53) and the Fort Worth Cats (49-38) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Abilene Prairie Dogs that eventually took advantage of them in an 8-6 win at LaGrave Field.

The Abilene Prairie Dogs held off the Fort Worth Cats, as the Fort Worth Cats were unable to overcome a seven-run fourth inning deficit.

The Fort Worth Cats scored five runs in the seventh on a double by RJ Harris, three singles, and 3s. Despite their efforts, the Fort Worth Cats couldn't finish the comeback.

Braden Embry had two extra-base hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He doubled in the third and fourth innings and singled in the sixth inning.

Brandon Jones had a hot bat for the Fort Worth Cats. Jones went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Matt Larkins got the win, running his season record to 4-1. He allowed four runs over six innings. Larkins struck out one, walked four and gave up 12 hits.

Blake Parry (6-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked two and struck out four.

David Phillips, Geraldo Valentin and Embry helped lead the Abilene Prairie Dogs. They combined for eight hits and six RBIs.
