The New Brunswick (1-4) jumped out to an early lead on the Newfoundland and Labrador (0-5) and captured a 12-2 victory on Sunday at Junior Martin-Bergeron.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the New Brunswick to put the game away early.

A three-run double by Sonny Newman, an RBI double by Robert Gallant, and a two-run single by Mike Washburn in the second inning fueled the New Brunswick's offense early.

Gallant had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

Nick Daigle recorded his first win of the year for the New Brunswick. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Michael Glynn (0-2) took the loss for the Newfoundland and Labrador. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked none and struck out one.
