The Medicine Hat Mavericks (5-1) blew out the Okotoks Dawgs 12-2 on Thursday at Seaman Stadium after pouring on seven runs in the fifth inning.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks were led by a flawless day at the dish by Collin Hetzler, who went 2-2 against the Okotoks Dawgs (1-3)'s pitching. He singled in the fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Colton Rudd recorded his first win of the year for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Rudd struck out three, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Ryan Rogers was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked two and struck out three.
