The Newark Bears get on top of the Rockland Boulders early but can't hang on in 3-2 loss

The Newark Bears (20-48) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Rockland Boulders (36-31) on Monday.

While the Newark Bears led until the eighth inning, the Rockland Boulders worked their way back and took the lead on a solo home run by Ryan Scoma.

Scoma reached base two times in the game for the Rockland Boulders. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the eighth inning.

Adrian Martin recorded his sixth win of the year for the Rockland Boulders. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Jorge Vasquez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
