The Rockford RiverHawks (28-33) and the Normal CornBelters (19-42) traded the lead six times on Wednesday, but the Rockford RiverHawks ended up on top with a 7-6 win in seven innings over the Normal CornBelters.

The Rockford RiverHawks staved off the Normal CornBelters as the Normal CornBelters were unable to match the Rockford RiverHawks down the stretch.

The Normal CornBelters scored one run in the seventh on an RBI single by Jason Thompson. Still, the Normal CornBelters couldn't catch the Rockford RiverHawks.

Michael Hur racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Rockford RiverHawks. He homered in the first inning.

Even though Drew Rucinski allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his fifth of the season. Rucinski struck out six, walked one and gave up 12 hits.

Daniel Britt (3-7) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked one and struck out two.
