The North Shore Navigators hang on against the Pittsfield Suns, 6-4

The Pittsfield Suns (9-12) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the North Shore Navigators (14-4), and the Pittsfield Suns lost 6-4 to the North Shore Navigators after falling behind by five runs in the third inning.

The Pittsfield Suns scored on an RBI double by Travis Smith in the fourth inning and an RBI single by Jimmy Ricoy and a sacrifice fly by Tito Marrero in the sixth inning. Despite their efforts, the Pittsfield Suns couldn't get over the hump.

Ryan Grant had an impressive outing against the Pittsfield Suns' lineup. Grant held the Pittsfield Suns hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Corey Stump improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the North Shore Navigators. He allowed two runs over five innings. Stump struck out two, walked two and gave up three hits.

Tom Darby (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out two.
