Four first-inning runs helped the Brantford Red Sox (27-5) to a 7-6 win over the Burlington Twins (11-19) at Arnold Anderson Stadium on Wednesday.

The Brantford Red Sox held off the Burlington Twins, as the Burlington Twins were unable to overcome a five-run second inning deficit.

The Burlington Twins scored on an RBI single by Branson Joseph and an RBI single by Joseph in the third inning, a three-run home run by Jeff MacLeod in the fourth inning, and a groundout by Kyle Morton and a groundout by Connor Panas in the ninth inning. Still, the Burlington Twins couldn't draw even.

Scott Thorman racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Brantford Red Sox. He singled in the first inning and homered in the second inning.

Brian Sikorski recorded his sixth win for the Brantford Red Sox even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered 11 hits.

Kyle Bolton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked five and struck out four.
