Bret Derooy threw a shutout to lift the Okotoks Dawgs (9-6) to a 7-0 win over the Yorkton Cardinals (6-10) at Seaman Stadium in seven innings.

The Okotoks Dawgs' Derooy kept the Yorkton Cardinals off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up five.

The offense exploded for the the Okotoks Dawgs in the fifth. In the inning the Okotoks Dawgs scored four runs.

The Okotoks Dawgs were led by a flawless day at the dish by Thomas Rodrigues, who went 2-2 against the Yorkton Cardinals' pitching. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Jamie Whitehead couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Yorkton Cardinals, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out four.
