The Douglasville Bulls (9-1)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 5-4 win over the Windward Braves (1-2) on Thursday at Douglas County.

The Douglasville Bulls would not relinquish the lead as the Windward Braves were unable to weather a four-run sixth inning deficit.

The Windward Braves scored three runs in the ninth on an RBI single by Connor Gilbert and 2s. Unfortunately, the Windward Braves weren't able to take the lead back.

The Windward Braves couldn't get anything going as long as Jeremy Holcomb was on the mound. The Windward Braves managed just one hit off of Holcomb, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out six during his 5 2/3 innings of work.

K Kyle (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
