The Atwater Aviators jump on the Nevada Big Horns early and coast to 12-4 win

The Atwater Aviators (6-9) jumped out to an early lead on the Nevada Big Horns (1-14) and captured a 12-4 victory on Wednesday at Western Nevada College.

Five runs in the first three innings allowed the Atwater Aviators to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Joe Greco and an RBI single by Greco during the first inning and an RBI single by Jake Morton and a two-run double by Rick Brebner in the second inning helped the Atwater Aviators put some runs on the board early.

Adam Mund racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Atwater Aviators. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

The Nevada Big Horns couldn't get anything going as long as Chris Van Dyke was on the mound. Van Dyke held the Nevada Big Horns hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Tyler Widiker racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Nevada Big Horns. He homered in the fourth inning.

Zack Speer recorded his first win of the year for the Atwater Aviators. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Sean Sweeney (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out eight.
