Miscue gives the West Virginia Miners 7-6 walk-off victory over the Richmond RiverRats

Story by Narrative Science.

A walk-off error from Alex De La Rosa brought home the winning run for the West Virginia Miners (40-18) in a 7-6 victory over the Richmond RiverRats (32-26) in 12 innings at Linda K Epling Stadium on Saturday.

Gray Stafford had two extra-base hits for the West Virginia Miners. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

The Richmond RiverRats couldn't get anything going as long as Jacob Johansen was on the mound. Johansen gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Hayden Walch (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.

The West Virginia Miners' Clayton Prestridge, Bryant Noteboom, John Sprik and Stafford combined for 10 hits and three RBIs.
