The Swift Current Indians (8-8) rolled over the Weyburn Beavers (7-14) 11-3 on Thursday at Mitchell Field after a six-run rally in the first inning.
Will Thorp had two extra-base hits for the Swift Current Indians. He singled in the first inning, tripled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.
The Weyburn Beavers couldn't get anything going as long as Myles Ethier was on the mound. Ethier held the Weyburn Beavers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Brian Ranta got the win, running his season record to 3-1. He allowed three runs over five innings. Ranta struck out five, walked one and gave up six hits.
Robbie Rocamora (1-4) took the loss for the Weyburn Beavers. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
The Swift Current Indians' Thorp, Carter Yagi and Aaron Dunsmore combined for six hits and five RBIs.
