The Rockland (10-13) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the New Jersey (16-8) on Thursday, as the Rockland fell 2-1 at Yogi Berra Stadium after falling behind by two runs in the third inning.
The Rockland scored one run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Scoma. Unfortunately, the Rockland weren't able to take the lead back.
Steve Fox brought the heat against the Rockland during his outing. The Rockland managed just one hit off of the the New Jersey's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his seven innings of work.
Julian Sampson couldn't get it done on the bump for the Rockland, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked five, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
