The infielder from Lansing, NY signed as a non-drafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Rays on June 9, 2014. He competed with the Gulf Coast League (GCL) Rays, Tampa’s Rookie affiliate in 2014. Last season, Ford played in 48 games and registered 170 at-bats. He scored 15 runs, collected 37 base knocks and had 50 total bases, 11 doubles, one triple, 15 RBI and 12 walks.
Ford played collegiately at Hofstra University and was a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year. The three-time All-CAA selection posted a career batting average of .313 with 36 doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 102 RBI. He started 182 out of 183 games with the Pride and ranks fourth all-time in Hofstra history with 223 hits. During his four-year career, Ford also posted a .958 fielding percentage.
