A native of West Brookfield, Massachusetts, Jankins recently completed his freshman year at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. For the Bobcats, Jankins started 14 games posting a 5-7 record with a 4.02 earned run average. Jankins was one of five freshmen on a young Bobcat pitching staff that were a key part of the Bobcats success in 2014 as Quinnipiac clinched its first playoff berth since 2007. The freshman made a strong impact in his first collegiate season as his 14 games started; five wins, 87.1 innings pitched and 48 strikeouts each led the team. His 4.02 earned run average was the lowest among all starting pitchers and third on the team. His season highlights include wins against Manhattan, Iona, and Monmouth. In a 4-0 win against Manhattan, Jankins struck out 10 and only allowed five hits and a walk over eight innings for his second career win. Two days later on March 24, Jankins was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week. Jankins best outing this past season came on the road at Iona in a 3-0 victory. Jankins fanned eight and walked one in a complete game, three-hitter against the Gaels. In his lone playoff start, he went eight innings, striking out two, walking two, and allowing eight hits in a 4-0 shutout of the Hawks.
