A 6’2” 190 lb. switch-hitting catcher hailing from Glandorf, Ohio, Schroeder is a freshman at the University of Kentucky and was a 22nd round draft pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012. The Prep Baseball Report ranked him as Ohio’s No. 1 catcher and No. 6 player overall coming out of high school. He batted .450 with three homers and 22 RBI his junior season at Ottawa-Glandorf High, and belted four triples and a home run in helping O-G go 15-9 and win a sectional title in 2012. In that same season he was named to the Rawlings 2012 Central – All Region 1st Team. He has played in the East Coast Pro Showcase (ECPS) in Lakeland, Florida (Tigertown) and the Tournament of Stars in North Carolina. He was also a 16U USSSA All-American in 2009.
