This year Kubitz was called upon many times in key situations to deliver out of the bullpen for St. Cloud State. In 19.1 innings of relief he held opponents to a .212 average and had a 5.59 ERA. He was a phenomenal addition in 2011 for the Huskies in his debut collegiate season and immediately established a reputation as a tough left-handed reliever. With 28.2 innings of work that season he posted a 1.88 ERA with 42 strikeouts and a 3-1 record. In high school Kubitz was a three time lettermen at Shakopee high school and was an All-Conference selection. He also received the prestigious national scholar athlete distinction his senior year in 2010, in addition to starring on both the basketball and soccer teams.
